Understand your profit

Profit is what is left after the cost of goods and your expenses. Here is how Zuru works it out, and how to grow it.

4 min Intermediate

Busy does not always mean profitable. Zuru calculates profit from what you record, so the more complete your records, the truer the number.

How Zuru calculates it

  1. Sales – everything you sold in the period.
  2. Minus cost of goods – what those items cost you.
  3. Equals gross profit.
  4. Minus expenses – rent, salaries, transport.
  5. Equals net profit.
